THE SQUID ARE IN Posted On: 4/17/12 SQUID!!! THE FIRST SQUID OF THE SEASON WAS CAUGHT LAST NIGHT IN EDGARTOWN HARBOR!! YAHOO LET THE SQUID DING BEGIN. I HIT THE SOUTH SIDE SUNDAY IT WAS SLOW A COUPLE PEOPLE GOT SKUNKED. I WAS CHATTING IT UP MORE THAN I WAS FISHING WENT 2 FOR 3. THE 3RD ONE CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD IT SMOKED SOME DRAG AND I WASN'T READY FOR IT. YESTERDAY WAS VERY GOOD AND BIGGER FISH SOME 26 TO 27 INCH STRIPERS!! I ONLY HAVE ONE REPORT OF A KEEPER SO FAR. CONGRATS TO TIMMY FOR LANDING THE FIRST FLYROD FISH OF THE SEASON! TONS OF HUGE SANDEELS IN EDGARTOWN HARBOR ALSO. NO REPORTS OF MACKERAL YET AND THE HERRING RUNS ARE TOTALLY STUFFED. WHICH IS AWESOME TO SEE. WITH THIS WEATHER THE SOUTH BEACH TEMPS WILL HIT 50 DEGREES NEAR BOTTOM TODAY. THAT ONLY MEANS BIGGER AND BETTER FISHING! I WILL KEEP YOU UP TO DATE WITH THE FISHING REPORT'S. GO GET EM!!!! First keeper!! Posted On: 4/14/12 Went 2 for 4 on the schoolies stripers yesterday!! First time out for 2012. i'm happy!! There were big school's off bass and herring way offshore. Tons of birds working the hole time i was out. The first keeper of the year was caught also' a nice health 30 inch fish. It is a good start to the year with a lot of high number catches. Tony (action) Jackson's 4 man crew beached 60+ fish. A couple other of Larry's tackle groupies report of 25-40 fish an outing!! Nice to see that many little fish around. It has been a couple years since they have been this thick. Squid reports in the sound, but none in the harbors yet! I'll keep you posted!!!
